These chairs are particularly elegant. They are very simple in their design, reflecting a style developed in the Ming dynasty (1368-1644) and which has remained popular to the present day.The simple lines and plain apron under the seat are typical of the Ming style. The front leg posts extend to the armrest while the back leg posts extend to the back support all the way to the top rail. From structural point of view, using single piece of timber in the vital supporting posts reinforces the structural strength.
